A class nine student, on her way to school in west Delhi’s Ranhola, was abducted by two youth in a car and gang-raped.
The victim told the police that she knew one of the suspects, but could not recognise the other youth. The police said they have identified both suspects and have detained them. A case of rape and under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered after the girl underwent a medical examination.
Student of a local government school, the girl lives with her parents in Ranhola. Her mother is an MCD employee while her father runs a modest business.
“The girl was walking to her school at 7.15 am on Saturday when the two youths approached her in a Hyundai Accent car and pulled her inside. They drove her around for sometime and then took her to an empty plot of land where they took turns to rape her,” said Pushpendra Kumar, DCP (West). She was dropped near her home around 6.30 p.m. She revealed the incident to her parents who then took her to the Ranhola police station.
