"First I sent my son to look for my daughter but as we didn't get any information, we started searching for her and in the evening at around 6 pm lodged a complaint with Shimlapuri police. At 4 am on Thursday morning, we got call from PCR that they have found bag of my daughter with her clothes, shoes and books in it from Hydel project o Sidhwan canal near Jawaddi area. After we went to search for her with police, we found the body of my daughter in nude condition from Barewal bridge area at around 8.30 am today. My daughter's body had severe injury marks in head, arms and abdomen area", said father of the deceased. "We don't know whether she was raped before being murdered and that would be clear after post mortem examination, but her killers should be immediately identified and handed over strictest punishment. We don't want that the process is delayed invariably like Nirbhaya rape case".
Family of the deceased meanwhile said that they had no enmity with anyone and have nor zeroed in on anybody as a suspect. "Police should investigate the matter thoroughly and bring culprits to book", demanded father of the deceased. Neighbours of the deceased said that she was very nice girl and would come to home immediately after school and go out with her mother only.
