3-year-old girl raped in West Bengal

A week after the rape of an 71-year-old nun, a three-year-old girl was raped in West Bengal's Nadia district. 



An 18-year-old youth lured the baby, his neighbour, with chocolate in Ghurulia village under Kaliganj police station in the district, took her to a place and raped her yesterday afternoon. 

The child informed her mother what had happened and she lodged a police complaint last night. The baby was taken to a hospital in Krishnagar for medical test. 

The accused was arrested from the house of his maternal uncle at that locality early today, police said. 

The gangrape of a 71-year-old nun inside a convent school at Ranaghat in the same district on March 14 has shocked the entire nation.

The Colaba police on Saturday arrested two men for kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl in a public toilet near Dockyard Road. The girl lives on the pavements near Jehangir Art Gallery with her mother and stepfather.

On Saturday, the accused, Irshad and Shabaz, who work as part time tourist guides in Colaba, took the girl with them on the pretext of taking her sightseeing. Instead, they took her to a public toilet near Dockyard road and raped her.
Rameshwar Suple, senior police inspector, Colaba said: "The duo knew the girl as they lived on the same pavement. After the incident, the girl returned home late, and when her mother asked her why, she narrated the ordeal." 
The mother then filed an FIR with Colaba police. Suple added that the duo was arrested late on Saturday night and have been booked for kidnapping, gang rape and under relevant sections of POCSOA.

BIHARSHARIF: In a horrific incident, a 17-year-old village girl in Nalanda was kidnapped twice within 36 hours and gang-raped by two separate groups of youths before she lodged a police complaint on Saturday. Police arrested two of the six accused youths and raids are on to nab others, said the police on Sunday.

The survivor, resident of a village under Hilsa police station area, said that she was returning home after attending nature's call on March 19 morning when four youths in a car asked her to show the way leading to the main road. She sat on their car and when the vehicle sped away she realized that she was kidnapped. The youths brought her to a lodge at Chora Bagicha locality under Deepnagar police station area and gang-raped her. They again gang-raped her the next day and then dropped her near Biharsharif bus stand and she reached Hilsa.

As she was waiting for a bus for her village, two motorbike-borne youths promised to drop her home. Not suspecting their intent, she sat on the motorbike but instead of dropping her home they took her to Fatuha in Patna district and gang-raped her at a secluded place there. She somehow managed to reach home.

Hilsa police station SHO Madan Prasad Singh said the police arrested two accused, identified as Roshan Kumar and Bhola Pandit, from the said lodge at Chora Bagicha located on the outskirt of Biharsharif town within hours of the lodging of the complaint late on Saturday evening. The police officer further said some bloodstained clothes have also been recovered from the lodge which have been sent to Patna for forensic examination and the medical examination of the survivor was conducted at Biharsharif sadar hospital.
