Savage rape and murder of disabled woman sparks new protests

Autopsy showed the 28-year-old Nepalese woman had been horrifically mutilated by her attacker

The savage rape and murder of a disabled woman has led to fresh protests over sexual violence in India.
An autopsy showed the 28-year-old Nepalese woman had been horrifically mutilated by her attacker.
Stones and blades had reportedly been forced into her during the horrifying assault.
The 'intellectually disabled' woman's body was dumped in a field in northern India, today, police said.
It is the latest in a long line of shocking recent rapes and murders of women that have led to social unrest in India.
In 2012, a brutal gang-rape and killing on a bus in New Delhi led to a massive public outcry.
The dead woman disappeared on February 1 in Rohtak in northern Haryana state. Her body was found three days later next to a road.
She had been living with her sister at the time and undergoing treatment at a hospital, police said.
Rohtak police senior superintendent Shashank Anand said: "Our teams have got some crucial leads.
"We will soon arrest those responsible and ensure that they get the most stringent punishment."
The dead woman's sister told NDTV: "Police have been slow to arrest the perpetrators, they should be arrested immediately and hanged.
"I want justice for my sister, they have been brutal to her, it's just spine chilling."
