ABOHAR: A 15-year-old student from Maujgarh village of Fazilka district was gang raped by three persons, including a minor. The perpetrators filmed the act and threatened to upload the clip on internet if she shared this with her family.

The matter came to light when one of the accused reportedly shared the clip with a friend, who further circulated the same in the village. The news reached her parents, who lodged a complaint at Khuia Sarvar police station where cops booked three persons for abduction and rape. Apart from the minor, the accused have been identified as Bansi and Manga, residents of Maujgarh. All of them are still at large.

According to police, the survivor was on her way to the village school on January 29 when the accused, residents of her locality, stopped her on the pretext of asking something, abducted her and took turns to rape her.

Sources in police said that the accused reportedly filmed the act and threatened to upload the clip on internet if she complained about the incident. The survivor says she kept quiet fearing humiliation.

When the video was circulated by the accused, her parents got to know and they confirmed it with her. The matter was reported to the police and medical examination of the girl was conducted, confirming rape. The police have registered a case under Section 376/34 of the IPC, Information and Technology Act 2000 and Protection of Sexual Offence Act 2012 against the accused.
