An eight-year-old disabled girl has been raped in Dasna. Her father has claimed that the incident took place late on Friday evening when he had taken his ailing wife out for a medical check-up.
Police said on Saturday that the girl's medical examination has confirmed rape, but they are not sure if it's a case of gangrape. She has been admitted to the GTB Hospital in Delhi. No one has been arrested in the case yet.
According to the girl's father, 35-year-old Manzoor, a daily wager who lives with his family in ward no 14 of Dasna, the incident took place between 7pm and 8.30pm on Friday when he had taken his ailing wife out for a medical check-up, leaving his daughter in the custody of other family members.
"When we returned home around 7.30 pm, my daughter was missing. We started searching for her frantically but could not locate her. Around 8.30 pm, two local boys brought her home on a scooty. The duo told us that they had found her wandering in the neighbouring Shriram Colony," he told TOI.
Manzoor added, "She initially seemed alright. But later we found her private part bleeding profusely. We immediately took her to a local doctor who advised us to go to the cops. The girl is unable to say anything because her mental faculties are not fully developed commensurate with her age. She is in a state of shock."
He claimed that some boys in their locality had told him that she was taken away by four youths from near our house last evening.
Ghaziabad police said that a medical examination has confirmed rape, following which an FIR has also been lodged in the Masuri police station under Section 376 (2)(g) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against an unknown person.
"We have lodged a case of rape against an unknown person because the girl is unable to share any information about the incident. A case of gang rape will be filed if we find more persons are involved in the incident. But it depends on the leads provided to us by the girl," said Jagdish Kumar, SP (rural), Ghaziabad.
