BAREILLY: A minor girl was allegedly abducted from a marriage function on Monday night in Bithri Chainpur village and gang raped by two men.
The matter came to light after the 12-year-old girl reached home and narrated the incident to her family members. Her harried parents approached police the next day, but cops filed an FIR on charges of eve-teasing. They said till medical reports confirm rape, they will not change the FIR.
As per reports, the Class V was at a marriage ceremony when she was abducted by Ram Babu (42) and Rajesh (18), both belonging to the same village.
The girl told police that they took her to a nearby deserted house where they gang raped her and threatened to kill her if she raised an alarm. She said the accused were armed with country-made pistols.
The girl's parents said that after learning about the incident from their daughter, they went to the home of the accused but they had not returned home.
The next day, the girl's relatives complained about the incident to the local police, who lodged an FIR on charges of eve-teasing. However, the girl's family members alleged that the accused had gang raped the girl, after which local police sent her for a medical test.
Police is yet to nab the accused.
Confirming the incident, Bithri Chainpur station officer Gajendra Singh said, "A case has been registered under section 354 and 500 of the IPC. Investigation is going on and we are waiting for medical reports of the girl. If the reports confirm rape, charges of rape will be added in the FIR."
